Das Ziel von Gender Planning ist, gendersensibles und inklusives Planen und Bauen von der Stadtentwicklung bis zur Architektur, dessen Anforderungen sowie die im Europarat 1998 verankerte Gleichberechtigung von Frauen und Männern anhand von Leitfäden in die gebaute Umwelt zu übersetzen. Während Österreich und vor allem Wien international als sehr fortschrittlich in Bezug auf Gender Planning in der Stadtplanung gelten, fehlt es in der Architektur aber noch an Datenmaterial, um fundierte Aussagen zu gendersensiblem Planen und Bauen im Neubau oder im Bestand zu formulieren. Am Beispiel von Schulbestandgebäuden sollen im vorliegenden Artikel die genderspezifischen Anforderungen herausgearbeitet werden, die Schüler*innen an ihr Schulgebäude stellen. Die Ergebnisse dieses qualitativ-empirischen Forschungsprojektes sollen Forschungslücken schließen, um aus dem Projekt heraus wichtige Aspekte für die nötige Standortbestimmung in der Architektur zu entwickeln.... view less

The aim of gender planning is gender-sensitive and inclusive planning and construction, from urban development to architecture. Guidelines are used in an attempt to translate the requirements made of such gender planning, as well as the equal rights of women and men that are enshrined in the principles laid down by the Council of Europe in 1998. While Austria, and Vienna in particular, is regarded internationally as very progressive when it comes to gender planning in urban planning, the field of architecture still lacks data in order to be able to formulate any well-founded statements on gender-sensitive planning and construction in regard to new or existing buildings. Using the example of existing school buildings, this article aims to identify the gender-specific requirements that pupils have of their school buildings. The results of this qualitative empirical research project are intended to close research gaps in order to take important aspects derived from the project and do the necessary stocktaking in the field of architecture.... view less
