Der Beitrag untersucht die Sprecherposition des deutschen Gangsta-Rappers mit Migrationshintergrund aus kultursoziologischer Perspektive und lotet den inszenatorischen Spielraum des Subjekts in einem normativen Szenediskurs aus, der umschlossen ist von soziokulturell bedeutsamen, übergeordneten Diskursen. Gangsta-Rap wird als popkulturelle Bühne und umkämpfter Ort betrachtet, an dem sich die Protagonisten vor dem Hintergrund gesellschaftlich kursierender Stereotype und Zuschreibungen positionieren. In diesem Sinne interpretieren wir die bild- und textbasierten Inszenierungen als Produkte der Verhandlung von Kategorien wie Geschlecht, Ethnizität und Klasse. The article focuses on the speaker position of the German Gangsta-Rapper with a migrational background from a cultural sociological perspective. We thereby concentrate on the subject’s performative opportunities within a normative subcultural discourse that is embedded in larger sociocultural discourses. In this context we consider Gangsta Rap a) as a popcultural stage and b) as a place of competition where the protagonists establish themselves with reference to socially grounded stereotype attributions. On the one hand we interpret the image- and text based rap performances as a result of the interplay of social categories (gender, ethnicity and class). On the other hand the aestheticized performances themselves have an impact on society: they promote a polarizing discussion.... view less
