[1], i-iii8, iv6+2 (2nd [26] and 7th [31] singles), v-vii8, viii4, ix-x8, xi6+3 (one single [78] after 1st, two singles [83 and 84] before last), xii-xv8, xvi8-1 (lacks original 2nd [after 118]), xvii6, xviii-xxi8, xxii6-2 (lacks two at end, 1st and 2nd [163-164] are glued to 3rd), [1]. Quire signatures III-XXII on ii-xxi, except XX (on xix) cut off, some others partially cut off; in lower right corner, with tironian notes for "requisitum est."

Written space: 205 mm x 137 mm 25-27 lines. ¶ Long lines. Dry-point ruling, single bounding lines (occasionally double at outer margin) prickings at or inside outer bounding line. text above top line. Occasional book titles as running titles.

Schrift und Hände

Littera praecarolina (see CLA and Bischoff, "Ein wiedergefundener Papyrus ", locc. citt. below). Several hands.

Buchschmuck

  • 3- to 10-line pen-decorated initials (plaitwork, foliate, fish), some red;
  • tituli in uncials or mixed majuscules, some square capitals, red or black;
  • first lines often uncial, sometimes red;
  • capitula sometimes in uncials.

Hinzufügungen

Tironian notes and corrections, contemporary to 9c (in insular hand 8c ex., ff. 53v, 54r, 55v, and names added in Anglo-Saxon minuscule, 8/9c, f. 158v: "uuirinhere / fredegart" (see CLA loc. cit., and W. Schmitz, Neues Archiv 11 (1886), p. 116 [not seen]. some marginalia in anglo-saxon minuscule (see marginalia above).
