The conductivity spectra of the unmodified vitreous B2O3 show a pronounced nearly constant loss behavior. At low frequencies, mixed alkali effects in the weights of both conductivity contributions resulting from the Jonscher power law and the nearly constant loss, the composition- and temperature-dependent shape of the conductivity spectra and the shifting factor, have been found in glassy 0.30[xLi2O(1-x)Na2O]0.70B2O3. At high frequencies, the reduced spectra show almost no temperature dependence which are caused by anharmonic vibrations of ions in the vicinity of network counter charges and/or local fluctuations of the jelly-fish type. The nearly constant loss behavior is clearly observed at very low temperatures and the shape of the conductivity isotherm is temperature-independent in the studied sodium alumino-silicate glasses. The conductivity spectra do not change with the substitution of SiO2 by Al2O3 and the amount of sodium oxide. The mobility of sodium ions in glassy 0.20Na2O0.20Al2O30.60SiO2 is much higher than that in glassy 0.20Na2O0.80SiO2. The conductivity increases with the sodium oxide content.
