Innovation für Zellsortierungen : Neues Verfahren für gleichzeitigen Personen- und Produktschutz
Die Sortierung von Zellen und deren Charakterisierung in der biomedizinischen Forschung sind wesentliche Schlüssel zur frühestmöglichen Erkennung und ursachenorientierten Bekämpfung von Erkrankungen, wie beispielsweise Krebs. Am Essener Universitätsklinikum arbeiten Wissenschaftler seit langem auf diesem Gebiet und dessen Weiterentwicklung.
Sorting of potentially biohazardous
probes is a topic of great interest in
biomedical research. However, the
problem of performing such cell
sorting procedures while simultaneously
protecting operators and
samples has remained unresolved
for a long time. To solve this problem
we have developed a patentprotected
device by adapting a cell
sorting system to a special biosafety
cabinet which satisfies the requirements for Class II cabinets. With aid
of this unit, sorting can be performed
according to the guidelines for
safe biotechnology in conformity
with the recommendations for Biosafety
Level 2.
