This essay discusses transfers of value under capitalism, operating with broad concepts of labour and exploitation that take account not just of the appropriation of other people’s wage labour, but also address the significance of unremunerated labour. The essay argues that a comprehensive theory of labour and exploitation needs to take account of all labour relations that allow entrepreneurs to accumulate
value.
