• Die Arbeit entwickelt die "Qualitative Argumentationsanalyse" als empirische Forschungsmethode. Es wird ein Methodeninventar vorgelegt, mit dem der Sozialforscher empirisches Material, das textlich vorliegt, auf Argumente und Argumentationen hin analysieren kann. Argumentationstheoretische Begriffe wie "Argument", "Argumentationsnormen", "Argumentationsprozess", "Argumentationsstruktur" und "Topen" (Topik) werden in eine empirisch anwendbare Form gebracht. Ausführliche Leitfäden, orientiert an der Qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse, ermöglichen die Identifikation, Zusammenfassung, Explikation und Strukturierung von Argumenten und Argumentationen, die in empirischem Material vorliegen.
• The work develops the "qualitative argumentation analysis" as an empirical research method. It presents an inventory of methods by which the social researcher can analyze arguments in empirical material that is given in text format. Concepts of argumentation theory such as "argument", "argument norms", "argument process", "argument structure" and "topics" are brought into an empirically usable form. Detailed instructions based on the qualitative content analysis enable the identification, summary, explication and structuring of arguments contained in empirical material.
