  • Monodithiolene complexes of tungsten and molybdenum of the type [M(CO)2(dt)(PP)] (M= Mo, W; dt= dithiolene; PP= bisphosphane) have been poorly accessible and consequently rarely studied. In this work, diverse variations of dithiolene and phosphane ligands were introduced and the complexes obtained were extensively characterized. A particular focus was placed on the redox-based reactivity of this exciting class of complexes, so that activation of the small molecule dinitrogen might be feasible in the future. In addition, a first example for the generation of a dithiolene-sulfonium ligand based on reactivity towards the small molecule dichloromethane could be obtained.
