• In diesem qualitativen Beitrag erfolgt eine diskurslinguistische und korpusbasierte Betrachtung des sogenannten »Arabischen Frühlings«. Davon ausgehend, dass mit der sprachlichen Wissenskonstitution akteursspezifische Auswahlprozesse vorausgehen, wird anhand des im Diskursausschnitt reaktualisierten Wissensrahmens Revolution aufgezeigt, welche (westlichen) kulturtradierten Verstehenshorizonte in der Diskurskonstitutionsphase (2010 – 2011) in überregionalen Zeitungskommentaren herangezogen wurden, um Resonanz zu erzeugen. Die mediale Ereigniskonstitution folgt dabei, so die Hypothese, Prinzipien der Akzeptanzanwerbung und Aufmerksamkeitssteuerung, die exemplarisch nachskizziert werden.
• One central function of media and especially of opinion pieces is to create a common ground for a wide audience in order to gain its acceptance for the topic. This corpus based, qualitative approach investigates how those events known as the so-called Arab Spring, are perspectivized in German opinion pieces. The focus lies on the culture-specific and historically evolved frame Revolution and its strategic (re-)use in the beginning of the events in 2010 – 2011. This (re-)use implies the tendency to interpret the events in the light of prototypical western political developments. This paper exemplifies the presence of historicity and the discourse-specific perception.
