Beiträge zur Unterstützung von IT-Sourcing-Entscheidungen

Contributions in Support of IT Sourcing Decisions

  • IT Sourcing is a key component of IT Government. In this study economic decision-making for various topics from the fields of infrastructure and applications are presented. After a brief introduction, the first contribution deals with offshoring decisions of software development projects. Based on an extension of the COCOMO cost estimation method various service providers can be compared to assess potential savings. The second contribution deals with the optimized licensing of business software, using different types of licenses. Requirements are covered by a combination of static and dynamic models of licensing. The third contribution values options in software licensing agreements by the extension of financial market models before the final decision support considers the virtualization of IT infrastructures. The articles generally follow a quantitative approach in economic outcomes, such as yield and risk. This does not only provide an understandable basis for the decision, but alsoIT Sourcing is a key component of IT Government.
