Abstract
The goal of this thesis was the establishment of a “Lego-type” modular concept for the creation of nanomaterials using supramolecular functionalization. The covalent surface modifications as well as the non-covalent supramolecular self-assembly processes have been conducted successfully. Thereby the major accomplishments were (i) the synthesis and characterization of versatile supramolecular organic molecules, (ii) an establishment of the wet-chemical surface functionalization of gold nanoparticles and (iii) the detailed experimental characterization of novel supramolecular “Lego-type” assemblies .
