Abstract

The study shows that the selection of the luting agent and the type of post as well as localization within the root and aging have a significant effect on the bonding properties of posts to the luting agent. The customizable glass fiber-reinforced composite post (everStick POST) achieves superior results in combination with all luting resin cements. The initial bond strength values of all fiber-reinforced composite post/adhesive luting agent combinations exceed those achieved by the control group. Bond strength can be expected to decrease after a certain period of use. Within the limits of the in vitro study, the use of fiber-reinforced composite posts for restoring endodontically treated teeth can be recommended in terms of the bonding properties between the post and luting agent.
