  • In the present work, four classes of compounds – borylenes, boroles, 9-borafluorenes and 9-aluminafluorenes – were investigated and new representatives of these classes with an ortho-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane substituent were presented and investigated for their reactivity. The aim was to use the unique properties of the carboranyl substituent, such as its electron-withdrawing and simultaneously σ-aromatic character, to achieve enhanced reactivity of the target compounds.
