  • The properties of the Si-(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl) group as a protecting group for silicon were further investigated as part of a continuation of the research done in this work group concerning (2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)silanes. The information obtained in these studies was then applied to the syntheses of silicon analogues of known carbon-based biologically active compounds by proceeding with synthetic strategies using (2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)silanes.
