• TERRAINS OF CONSCIOUSNESS emerges from an Indian-German-Swiss research collaboration. The book makes a case for a phenomenology of globalization that pays attention to locally situated socioeconomic terrains, everyday practices, and cultures of knowledge. Throughout, the approach of Terrains of Consciousness is informed by the uncomfortable question of how the ‘liberating’ effects of globalization relate to its limiting and disrupting consequences. In these respects, it is vital to ask how globalization affects the dispossessed inhabitants of the world and its various societies.…
