METHODS: retrospective analysis of 238 patients (10 year period) with spontaneous basal ganglia hemorrhage with regard to bleeding, threomembolic complications, death, functional outcome (GOS) comparing heparin therapie vs. no prophylactic anticoagulation and distinguishing between operated and conservatively treated patients.
