• This work deals with the topic: “The development of modern input devices and the impact on interface design and interaction design.”. The work is divided into four parts. The first part takes a closer look at the new input device: The Leap Motion Controller which support hand and finger motions as input. Afterwards the second part will give an overview about the developement of the human-computer interaction and the impact of the different user interfaces by describing diffrent design concepts: the Graphical-User-Interface and the Natural-User-Interface. The third part decsribs and evaluates two input devices: the desktop-mouse and the Apple iPhone with the multitouch-screen. The analysis examines four criteria: precision, feedback, manipulation and ergonomics. The fourth part of the work deals with the conception of an application for the Leap Motion Controller which is based on the different user interface concepts and analysis.
