Abstract

The equilibrium which exists between titanium metal, Ti+2, and Ti+3 in fused sodium chloride-strontium chloride baths has been determined. The effects of total titanium concentration, temperature, and the ratio of strontium to sodium chloride have been studied. In order to conduct the investigation a method for determining Ti+2 was developed.
