Abstract

The morphologies of proeutectoid α in a Ti-Cr alloy have been investigated in some detail and found to be basically similar to those previously observed in the proeutectoid ferrite reaction in plain carbon steels. The eutectoid reaction in hypoeutectoid Ti-Cr alloys was found to consist primarily in the precipitation of α and of TiCr2 from β in non-lamellar form.
