Abstract

We have constructed a five-dimensional Bianchi type-III cosmological model with strange quark matter attached to the string cloud in Barber’s second self-creation theory of gravitation which is inflationary. An exact inflationary string cosmological model is obtained in which the theory leads to the Einstein theory at initial epoch. It is interesting to note that as T gradually increases, the scalar expansion θ and shear scalar σ 2 decrease and finally they vanish when T → ∞. The cosmological parameters have been discussed in detail.
