Körperpsychotherapie wird v. a. in multimodalen Behandlungsansätzen in Kliniken angeboten.
Abstract
The current variety of methods for body psychotherapy developed out of psychoanalysis, the life reform movement and humanistic psychology. The present text gives an overview of the history. What they all have in common is that the body is included in the therapeutic process and is understood as a medium in which biographical material, experiences, traumas and developmental deficits as well as resources and coping possibilities are stored. In body psychotherapy bodily sensations are not only self-evident parts of the countertransference, but the body itself is understood as a relationship-shaping organ of resonance. Bodily processes are consciously perceived and put into words. Tensions, reactions, feelings and moods of the patient can be clarified and regulated with the help of the therapist. Using the example of functional relaxation, special features of body psychotherapeutic procedures are presented. Body psychotherapy is mainly offered in multimodal treatment approaches in clinics. It is carried out individually and in groups and can be a very good complement to guideline procedures.
