About this book

An extensive corpus of 5^th century correspondence has been preserved under the name Isidore of Pelusium. A large part of the letters is comprised by biblical interpretations and statements on exegetic theory. This volume sifts through all of these texts, arranging them according to criteria reflective of the contemporary mindset and exegesis. It also examines Isidor’s use of imagery and the creativity of his engagement with the Bible.
