Résumé
La réadaptation à l’effort dans l’insuffisance cardiaque (IC) est une pratique assez récente, associant exercices physiques et éducation thérapeutique. Les preuves de son efficacité sont multiples, et les grandes lignes des modalités de sa réalisation relativement consensuelles. Néanmoins, plusieurs facteurs liés au patient, à la maladie, et parfois au manque de formation sur cette thérapeutique non médicamenteuse des corps médicaux et paramédicaux font qu’elle reste sous-utilisée. L’IC est un tableau clinique complexe où l’approche interdisciplinaire au sein des soins de suite et de réadaptation (SSR) est efficace sur l’amélioration des symptômes limitant la participation, du pronostic, et sur le maintien des acquis, d’autant plus si elle s’intègre dans une démarche de continuité entre les services de soins aigus adressant les patients et l’équipe qui les suit à domicile.
Abstract
Cardiac rehabilitation in heart failure (HF) is a fairly recent practice combining exercise training and patient education. Evidences of its effectiveness are numerous, and the main guidelines for its implementation are now relatively consensual. Nevertheless, several factors, linked to the patient’s characteristics, the state of the disease, and may be due to the lack of information on this non-pharmacological approach during medical and paramedical training, could probably explain why it remains under prescribed and under-utilized. HF is a complex clinical conditioning which the interdisciplinary approach within rehabilitation departments is effective in improving symptoms limiting participation, prognosis, and learning retention, especially if it is part of a process favouring continuity between the acute care services addressing the patient and the team that follows them at home.
