The design and implementation of instructional interventions require a number of decisions in relation actors, processes and variables at the micro-, meso- and macrolevel. In this workshop, we will explore a model that will work as a guiding frame of reference to understand the specific contribution of certain instructional theories for the design and implementation of instructional interventions. A series of theories will be reviewed from a behaviorist, cognitivist and constructivist origin. The specific theories will be dissected to extract design guidelines and we will explore how these apply to e.g., medical or health related educational interventions.
