Purpose: The minimal invasive pars-plana-vitrectomy with the 23gauge system has become a standard procedure in the ophthalmological operating theatre.

Methods: Aim of this video is to present the single steps of the 23gauge pars-plana-vitrectomy from the view of the surgeon, from a side view and a schematic presentation.

Results: The video shows the normal expiry of the one-step 23gauge pars-plana-vitrectomy and gives single notes and tips.

Conclusions: The video serves the conservative working opthalmologists for a better understanding of the surgery procedure and it is a usefully help and support in the education for the studying surgeon.
