(Autorenreferat)... view less

"The majority of enterprises in almost all sectors of the economy consists of microenterprises. A small size and an active owner lead in fact to a socio-economic unity of a private household and the related enterprise. This unity shows specific functions and structures. It is neither a mere private household nor just an enterprise. For that reason this unity is called household-enterprise-complex. The analysis of quantity, structure and development of the sector of household-enterprise-complexes is based an data of the Mikrozensus, that are generally available. The study reveals a growing number of household-enterprise-complexes and therefore their increasing importance can be stated. In 1997 almost fifty percent of the self-employed lived and worked in such a socio-economic unity. One third of them were women. Household-economic-complexes are found in particular in the sector of the economy that is called 'Other Services'. But the possibilities of analyzing the sector of household-enterprise-complexes are also limited. Above all it is a disadvantage that the data of the Mikrozensus are not completely published. Hence an own study of the household and family context was not possible. As the datafile of the Mikrozensus 1995 is now available this question can be answered by further research."
