Se evalúan los efectos de
PROCAMPO, programa más reciente de la
política agrícola mexicana, en la reducción de
la pobreza rural de los beneficiarios en dos
municipios chihuahuenses: Cuauhtémoc y
Guachochi durante el periodo de 1994 a 2013.
La investigación partió de información de
fuentes secundarias, además de 50 cuestionarios
aplicados en los municipios mencionados.
Los resultados indican que el ingreso que
proporcionó PROCAMPO no fue suficiente para
mejorar el ingreso real de los beneficiarios en
situación de pobreza, ya que dependen de actividades
laborales no agrícolas. Una estrategia
para reducir la pobreza rural es la búsqueda de

procampo was of the most important recent programs of the Mexican agricultural policy. However, its performance has not been studied adequately at a regional level. Therefore the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of procampo on the rural poverty of the beneficiaries of this program in two municipalities chihuahuenses: Cuauhtémoc y Guachochi from 1994 to 2013. The investigation began with information from secondary sources plus 50 questionnaires applied in the municipalities. The results indicate that the income provided by procampo was not enough to improve the real income of those beneficiaries considered as poor since these individuals depend on non-agricultural work activities. One strategy to reduce rural poverty is to search for the profitability of production from agriculture.... view less
