Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Multiple-Burner Arrangements on Combustion Instabilities in Turbulent Swirl-Stabilized Flames

Kraus, Christian

Abstract:

Combustion instabilities are still an important target of scientific investigation. Most research is performed on single-burner combustors. However, burner systems in technical applications are often operated with multiple burners and annular combustion chambers. In the thesis the influences of the burner-burner interactions in the multiple burner arrangements on the combustion instabilities of the modular combustor are investigated experimentally and numerically.
