Die Freiheit des Lesers
Was Lesen bedeutet, ist nicht nur literarisch eine wichtige Frage, sondern auch theologisch. Einerseits sind wir bei unserer Lektüre immer geleitet durch textuelle Vorgaben und kulturelle Einflüsse, andererseits ist Lesen aber immer auch eine kreative Tätigkeit. Der Sinn eines Textes wird letztlich aufgebaut durch die Leser. Kein Autor hat in der Hand, wie wir das, was er schreibt (oder sagt), schließlich aufnehmen und vielleicht weitergeben werden.
What reading means is an important question not only in literary respects but also in theological ones. On the one hand we are always guided by textual elements and structures and by cultural influences; on the other hand reading is a creative act, too. The sense of a text is, in the end, constructed by the readers. No author can definitively fix how we will receive what he writes (or says) and how we will, perhaps, pass it on.
