Abstract

In China and India a substantial development of the power station capacities for covering the load peaks and the accomplishment of the increasing energy demand is expected in the coming years. Against the background of already existing environmental problems and the expected global climate changes a high value therefore comes to a long-term and sustainable energy supply. A contribution to the solution of the environmental problems can particularly carry the use of renewable energies and especially the wind energy, since both countries have large potentials. In the context of this dissertation the technical and economic potentials of the wind-technical electricity generation for China and India are determined in detail, as well as the environmental use is evaluated by a life cycle assessment. The subject of further views is the classification of the costs connected with this technology and the determination of the respective avoided costs of selected impact categories.
