Der Staat soll die Spielregeln des Marktes gestalten dann aber nicht weiter in die wettbewerblichen Spielzüge der Wirtschaftsakteure eingreifen. Der maßgeblich von Alfred Müller-Armack geprägte Begriff „Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ versteht sich als wirtschafts- und gesellschaftspolitisches Leitbild das eine aktive Wettbewerbspolitik eine marktkonforme Sozialpolitik sowie außenwirtschaftlichen Freihandel empfiehlt und insofern ordoliberales Gedankengut umsetzt. | |
| “Ordoliberalism” a school of thought substantially influenced by Walter Eucken aims at constitutionalizing the economy. The state is meant to shape the institutional framework the rules of the market but should abstain from further interventions into economic actors’ decisions about their moves within the competitive market game. The term “Social Market Economy” coined by Alfred Müller-Armack is meant to provide guiding principles for framing the economy and more generally modern society. It recommends an active anti-trust policy a market-compliant social policy and a consistent free-trade orientation. In this sense the “Social Market Economy” aims at implementing “ordoliberal” principles. |
