Abstract
Aim of this study was to investigate the role of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T-cells at the induction of allergen-specific tolerance with specific immunotherapy with a pre-seasonal adjuvant-enhanced scheme (Pollinex Quattro™) versus a perennial treatment scheme (ALK SQ Depot™) in Type I birch pollen allergy. Further, the following questions should be addressed: Do the therapeutic effects of a perennial specific immunotherapy differ from pre-seasonal specific immunotherapy? Does a co-application of the adjuvant Monophosphoryl Lipid A allow a reduction of the treatment interval at comparable efficacy?
Abstract
Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit war es, die Rolle der CD4+ CD25+ regulatorischen T-Zellen bei der Induktion allergenspezifischer Toleranz durch spezifische Immuntherapie (SIT) mit einem adjuvans-verstärkten präsaisonalen Kurzzeitschema (Pollinex Quattro®) versus einem perennialen Behandlungsschema (ALK SQ Depot®) bei Typ I-Birkenpollenallergie zu untersuchen. Des Weiteren sollten folgende Fragestellungen geklärt werden: Inwiefern unterscheiden sich die Behandlungseffekte der perennialen im Vergleich zur präsaisonalen SIT? Kann durch die Zugabe des Adjuvans Monophosphoryl Lipid A (MPL-A) eine Verkürzung der Behandlungsdauer bei gleichem Therapieerfolg erreicht werden?
