Die ambulante Aufzeichnungsszene

Abstract

Based on the concept of the «scene of writing», this article develops a model of mobile recording. The generative praxis of ambulant recording is understood as a variable arrangement of: media technology, the body/gesture, operative space, co-presence and semantics. All these factors are both indispensable preconditions as well as sources of resistance that have to be negotiated and overcome in the course of ambulant recording. In the article, this model is brought together with the elementary and manifold recording practices of mass media (from the handwritten note to the snapshot of photojournalism and the steadicam shot), with Bruno Latour′s concept of »immutable mobiles« and with questions about the metaphorization and subjectification of mobile practices of recording.
